The New Year!!

If you use this picture credit it to me.

Hello everyone! As you know, 2014 is coming to an end. And the new year 2015 will soon arise. 2014 has been a magnificent year for me. I've had all the luck! Over the past year, I've made so many friends, and I lost a couple of friends. I gained wonderful experiences like going to the Discovery Girl summit and meeting this girl and this girl there. I learned many new things and improved so much at different sorts of things. 2014 is also the year that I started blogging.

As the new year arises, it's the perfect time to think about how to improve yourself, make things better. It's a new beginning and chance for a great year, as a great person. It's important to embrace this chance and the many beginnings and the years we have. The years to gain new experiences, learn new things, etc. are a blessing and something that we should use. 2014 was a great year for me, but maybe not for everybody. To those of you that haven't had the best year, now's the chance to have a great one.  It's time to change your mindset to a positive one and look forward to all the experiences of 2015 and know that you're capable of making your own year amazing! You can choose how you want to improve, take on experiences, etc...  I don't know exactly what will happen in the coming, whether or not it's bad or good. But, I'm ready to take it on.

Things to be excited about in 2015:

  • My first blog anniversary on February 1
  • Going on a trip!
  • Reading new books and Watching new movies and shows
  • The issue of discovery girls that I'm in as a discovery girl coming out
  • Harry Potter(I'm always excited about Harry Potter)
  • Graduation(The food there!)
  • Starting Middle School(It's a chance for meeting new people!)
  • etc...........

2014 Favorites:

  1. Pepperidge Farm Gingerman are wonderful simple sugary delights. You can buy them here.
  2. The Nutella hazelnut spread with cocoa is something that we've all ate. You can buy them here.
  3. Red Velvet Cake is delicious, moist, and sweet but I don't like the frosting..so I only eat the cake!
  4. Making coffee and tea. I don't like coffee but there was a recent chain of coffee/tea incidents. I only made coffee one time for my mom a few days ago, and it exploded in the microwave and I cleaned it up. The next day my mom was making tea for my dad..and it exploded in the microwave. The day after that, my dad was making tea for himself...and it exploded in the microwave.
  1. The Clay Lion is possibly the best book I've ever read...maybe..I've read a lot of books. See here for a description of what it is about.
  2. Tin Men is the sequel to The Clay Lion. It's not as good, but still is amazing. See here for a  description of the book.
  3. The Harry Potter series. I re-read them a while ago and I will always love the books. If you have not read them, I EXTREMELY advise that you buy all the books this instant and do. See here for a description of the books.
Some of my favorite blogs(There are so many more blogs that I love than the ones listed here, but due to time, I can't list them all.)

New Year Resolutions:

1. Blog more. I haven't been blogging as much as I'd like too. I've been posting about once a week and I think that from now, I'll try to post 2-3 times a week.

2. Start doing yoga more often.

3. Stop thinking that I have to get everything right on the first try. #coffee/tea incident

4. Finish writing my nanowrimo novel

5. Comment more.

I wish you the best of luck for the new year! Bye!!

Blogging: 5 Tips about blog designs

Hello!!! A blog's design is definitely an important part of your blog. Of course, the content is what really matters. But, most people won't even bother to read your posts, unless they like the look of your blog. So, I wanted to give you some tips about designing your blog!

1. Have a simple back round. I really like plain white back rounds. White goes with anything and it keeps your blog looking professional. Other solid bold colors are also good for back rounds.

2.  Make your header pretty but not too flashy or intricate. You want your readers to focus on your post and not get distracted.

3. Use color combinations. Try to limit the color scheme on your blog to 2-3 colors.

4. Don't clutter up your sidebar. Put the necessary gadgets on first such as a follow button, blog button, an archive, etc...You can even leave your sidebar completely blank and have all your gadgets placed at the bottom of your blog.

5. Make sure you write your posts in a readable font. Normal Calbri font or Times New Roman should do just fine. Also, remember to not have too many fonts across your blog. 3 is a good amount(header, sidebar/date, post content)

1. Flowers are very interesting. In the spring, they bloom, and in the winter they fall down. But, at the time, when the next spring comes, they bloom back again. They bloom again, knowing that they will probably fall down. But, they also know, that they'll bloom again. We can too. We can rise after we fall down. Rising, stronger, more powerful, from our experiences. Knowing, we'll probably fall down again, but we will get up. Be courageous. Be strong, You can rise from bad experiences.

A Needed Life Update and A Survey

JLately, everybody's been getting sick. There's coughs and sneezes echoing all over the room, people grasping the last tissues in the box. Five people were absent in my class yesterday, and in some classes, over half is missing! Of course, one of our absences was due to someone in our class, who had moved across the country without telling us! Well, he did actually tell some of his very close friends(and what proves that they were good friends of his is that everybody who didn't wasn't told was surprised) but many didn't know. That person, suddenly didn't show up in school around two days ago, and we were given the news that he moved. I wasn't friends with him, but I did talk to him, and it was sad news for our whole class. If, only he told us, we could have at least said goodbye.

What Winter Means

Not mine!!

Some piece of writing that I randomly wrote

I just kind of randomly wrote this right now:

Slowly, rising from the murky water, that had so willingly pulled Endon down, he looked toward the enemy with grim determination, and then turned his head to the weakling men behind him.
"Fight!" he bellowed.

TV shows you might like

Hi! How was your Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping? Mine went awesome! Today, I would like to share some TV shows that some of you guys might like. So, lets get on with it!!

Gilmore Girls is a comedy/drama about the relationship of a mother and a daughter. If you decide to watch this, I recommend that you watch seasons 1-3 or 1-4. When, Rory goes to college, I fell like the show starts going downhill, and the characters get extremely annoying, and the show is all about romance, rather than school and or the mother daughter relationship. I'm currently watching season 6, and I'm thinking of stopping.

Inspiring Fictional Characters

Hi! Today I will be sharing some powerful and inspiring fictional characters.
Hermione Granger, in my opinion is the best female character there is. She is smart, and always tried to do her best at school(of course, when she was in front of the boggart it turned into a teacher telling her she failed all her exams) and didn't let anyone else tell her what to do. And, she started the S.P.E.W organization. She also punched Malfoy...and that makes her on the top of my list.

Is It Worth It?

The heart is a rocket,
soaring upward into the
The feeling of wind in your face,
a thrill.
The sunshine, pouring happiness upon you.
But some, lay on the ground,
yet to be ignited,
frightened of what is out there,
clinging to the tall reeds of grass,
pushing away any feeling to rise.
Some soared once,
but fell down,
and some stayed down, limp-less on the ground.
But, some rose after falling
multiple times,
they will keep on trying.
The daunting thought that people face:
is it worth it?

Nanowrimo Writeaton

First of all, how do you like my new design? I used some code and photo editing knowledge to create it! Second, a lot of people are doing Nanowrimo including me. So, I thought, why not do a writing marathon for Nanowrimo. So this Saturday, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM eastern time I will be writing for three hours straight. If you would also like to do this comment below!

Happy late Halloween!

Hi! So basically yesterday, a friend's mom took me home from school with two other friends and we partied!! Just kidding- we actually ate a really early and yummy dinner. Then we changed into our costumes (I was continuously waving a wand around that made lots of noise until I realized that I was being screamed at from down below). Another person joined us and we went off on our way to trick or treat! I was dressed up as a Hogwarts student, one of my friends was dressed up as a vampire, one a witch, and one a flamenco dancer!! We ran (yes we were running) around the neighborhood running up the lawn. And, I do have to say that I made several remarks about how soft the grass was... Well, it was VERY soft! Then, we rang the doorbell while one of my friends peaked through the window of the house which was extremely fun because she kept on accidentally looking even though it is kind of rude. Someone came out, and it was the usual routine: Trick or Treat, Thank You, Happy Halloween, and sometimes I like your dog or Cool decorations. And, if there was a bowl we usually took 1 or 2 candies. There was a sign beside one of the bowls that said please take only one. And my friend remarked, "Okay, we will take one piece of each type of candy!" So, yeah we ended up getting a lot. Bye for now. I have to start working on my Naniwrimo novel! Bye!

Self Appreciation

I don't care,you know. I'm not hurt and I won't ever be to that comment. I'm proud!
Proud of all I am. If you slit me open and poured all the contents out, and looked deep inside, you would know all my thoughts and emotions, my secrets. But, I would not be ashamed. I appreciate who I am. And maybe you should start too. Because when I look into your face, and the ones around you, I don't see a beast looking for food. I see a scared little person, sucking on someone else to make them feel worse than you do. Well, now your in the top of the ranks right? You're not the worst feeling person there right? So it's all good right? No. The answer is no. Look at what you've done. Look around you! Look! You've made everyone around you insecure too! So, learn to appreciate yourself. Stop being rude to others to make yourself feel better.

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

The Cover

You're the person who sees right through,
doesn't get fooled by the almost transparent cover
that everyone is satisfied with.
You squint your eyes,
and peer through.
"Don't!" some cry.
There are two sides of the cover
and  seldom not
they don't match.
But what's behind the cover, you care,
the thoroughly real side.
And often,
as you close the veil,
done looking,
you shake your head in dismay.

I had a sudden burst of energy and wrote the poem above! I showed it to my parents, and they understood it after a while but first were a little confused. So, I thought it would be best to add a little description thingy! SO....

The poem is talking about this one person who focuses about what is on the inside of the person rather than the outside. And often, what's on the inside can be disappointing.

Also, my mom was a bit confused about the phrase: seldom not. That just means often.

So I hope that description cleared up anything you were confused about (if you were confused)

Hope you have a great weekend! Bye!!

NaNoWriMo Planning

Hey everyone! Its my first year doing NaNoWriMo and I can't wait! Anyway, this is kind of a plan for characters. I do not know all the characters that are going to be in my story yet but I definitely know some. I'm planning to have my finished piece be MG (middle grade) or YA (youth). I'll explain more about what this novel will be about later but for now........lets get planning!

Alex is a girl who is known for her miraculous painting talent but her real passion is writing. She gets pretty good grades and sometimes tutors other students. She likes to have fun but mainly stays to herself.
AGE: 12

Rachel is quite out spoken and is very friendly. She has tons of friends and she is really smart too! Though anybody would be her friend, she sticks around with Alex.
AGE: 13

This is Shawn. Everything in his life is perfect except for his family and grades. He loves sports and singing.
AGE: 12

This is Alex's mom, Katherine. She tries to always do the best for the family.
AGE: 37

This is Alex's dad, Brett. He really friendly and calm.
AGE: 40

This is Shawn's dad, Josh. Josh has a very large temper.
AGE: 43

So those are some characters! See ya later! :-)

I saw a post on Eve's blog a few weeks ago and she did something like this and I wanted to try it out.

The Unicorn Who Started A Blog

Also, one of the girls I met at the DG summit has started a blog called The Unicorn who started a Blog.  It would be great if you could check it out and enter her writing contest.  Click here, here, or here to get to it.  Bye!

Which one is your favorite?

Which quote is your favorite? Let me know in the comments.

“Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.”

“True friends are always together in spirit. (Anne Shirley)”

“My life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes.”

“There's such a lot of different Annes in me. I sometimes think that is why I'm such a troublesome person. If I was just the one Anne it would be ever so much more comfortable, but then it wouldn't be half so interesting.”

“People laugh at me because I use big words. But if you have big ideas, you have to use big words to express them, haven't you?”

“But if you call me Anne, please call me Anne with an 'e'.”

“...“Oh, Marilla, looking forward to things is half the pleasure of them,” exclaimed Anne. “You mayn’t get the things themselves; but nothing can prevent you from having the fun of looking forward to them. Mrs. Lynde says, ‘Blessed are they who expect nothing for they shall not be disappointed.’ But I think it would be worse to expect nothing than to be disappointed.”...”

4. What's your biggest non-blog related pet-peeve

A mango milkshake.

14. What's your favourite movie?

Morningtime4's Blog Party and Writing Contest!

First of all, I would like to say thank you to everyone who commented on my previous post. I have responded to all of the comments. I wasn't able to say much in the comments individually due to lack of time but here I can thank everyone. All of your comments were so nice and sweet. I feel great that you guys aren't going to think about me any differently now that you know my age. I have realized, that I have met some quite great people in the blogging world. Anyway, thanks again! Now, for partying!

Lets get our party on!

The Ups and Downs of My Not-So-Average Life

1. What do you love about the fall season?
The leaves, the breeze, everything!
2. If you walked in a mall and saw a guacamole chip hat, would you wear one or eat it?
Take a pic of me wearing one and then eat it. :)
3. What is one of the most frustrating or aggravating things in the blogging world?
When no one reads on a post that you worked very hard on.
4. Would you rather build a snowman or sing in the rain? (See what I did there?)
Sing in the rain. Unfortunately, my mom would not approve of that idea.
5. If you had to chose how you were a part of a theater or movie production, would you be: an actor, props designer, set designer, light/technical director, audio coordinator, costume director, music director, dance coordinator, stage manager, or a part of the audience?
Ok, so I'm actually currently working behind the scenes for a play right now and one of  the jobs above will be mine. I would probably like to be a props designer, set designer, or stage manager.
6. List your blogging inspirations (blogs and people).
Ok, there are a lot of blogs and people that are inspirational to me but I'll just pick a few.
1. My family
2. Some of my friends
3.  Kat and Almost Completely Mad
4. Morningtime4 and The Ups and Downs of my Not so Average Life
5. Rose and Truly Madly Deeply
6. Eve and Eve of Womanhood
7, Oakstar and An Amazing Case of Wanderlust
8 . And many more!
7. Do you think you could commit yourself to a Halloween costume made of lint, or a Halloween costume made of bubble wrap?
Bubble Wrap would be awesome
8. Do you tend to photo bomb people's photos, or divert from them?
9. What is one word you constantly have to keep looking up the definition to?
I'm not sure...
10. If you wrote an autobiography about yourself, what would you call it (if you couldn't place your name in the title) and why?
An Optimistic Jollygirl
And now for my entry to Morningtime4's writing contest!
You hurt everyone.
Your friends,
Your family,
Your words
they were piercing
And, they didn't go away
staying there
right there
a scar
forever and ever
And your lies,
they brought you down
as the truth was
You betrayed
hurt them
for yourself.
I see you
at your lip,
Guilt flooding into your
in realization of what
have done.
There is no way to erase
can't take it
the sun will rise
a new chance,

The Thing About My Age

Ok, so I haven't told anyone about my age yet. The thing is, I'm pretty young compared to all my followers and the writers of the blogs that I read. Most of you must be 4-5 years older than me (some even older). There is no need to tell you what my age is. Before I was actually trying to hide it in fear that no one would take me seriously. When you figure out my age some of you will probably skip over my posts when they see them in their dashboard or not take me seriously. But, I'm not going to hide my age. I'm proud of being a poet, a blogger, a musician, a discovery girl, a reader, etc....... And, there is no reason to be ashamed of my age. Anyway, I'm ten. Now, maybe you are surprised that you have been reading a ten year old's blog or maybe you don't care. But whether you care or not does not affect me. I'm proud of the things I've done in my short lifetime and I will not be ashamed to say my age.  I will not be ashamed about anything about myself. You see, I've learned a lesson, Don't be ashamed about anything about yourself, love and savor it, sprinkle down your magic.  See you later. Bye.

The Power of Introverts

The power of introverts. I encourage you to take time to watch this video. It is amazing. Introverts and Extroverts are both amazing in their own way!

I am very thankful for my wonderful friends!

Theater Production, Thanks

First of all, I would like to say thank you to Eve. Thank you for designing this blog so beautifully! You and other designers like Morningtime4 have inspired me to start learning some html and you can view my first design on Words of a Writer , here or here or here. I'm still going to add some things to it (like a top button) but it is almost finished. So, anyway I'm going to continue to learn html!

So, every year the students in the grade I'm in now, have a play. I've always enjoyed watching these hour long plays and admired the people who put so much hard work into them. These plays are optional and I was a bit unsure about signing up but I ended up doing so. But, instead of choosing to be in the production of Peter Pan (that is the play this year but it will be the broadway version/ the disney movie) I have decided to work in behind the scenes. As a behind the scenes person, I get to paint the scenery and do other things according to what jobs we get. Job selections are based on how responsible you are.

Yesterday was the second day of behind the scenes but we haven't started on any art yet because first, we need to hear the play and the music (which we will do next week when the roles for the cast are picked. Note: Everyone who joins the theater production will get a role but most people will be in the ensemble and the very talented people will be main characters) and we need to plan.

Any way, I'm really excited to start designing the stage with two of my friends!(my other friends all decided to be in the cast and I'm wishing them luck for the roles they want) Bye!

Summer Pictures

Finally, the time has come to share with you, summer pictures! Some of them are a little blurred to hide faces but you can still see them. There are not a bunch of pictures but anyway.... Also, please check out a new poem I have written here.

After our "climbing rock trek"we posed on the top.

Happiness and Sadness

1. Finding out that someone who you thought was your friend is really not your friend
2. Having high expectations that are let down
3. Rainy gloomy days
4. Knowing that you have made a huge mistake
5. When you figure out that the "I'm so lucky to have you as a friend!" meant nothing
6. When you figure out that someone has made a plan behind your back to separate you and another friend.

1. Knowing that you are going to have tons of fun working on a project with your good friends
2. Knowing that you have a great family
3. Knowing that you will have great fun learning at school the next day!

Hey guys! How are you doing? The lists above are what I am sad about and what I am happy about. Sadness is an illness an happiness is a treat. So, whenever you are feeling sad, reach for the happy. Think of the happy things in your life! You will definitely feel at least a little better.

Also, I made a writing blog that I am going to post my writing on, Some of my writing will be posted on this blog and in the writing section of this blog but all of my writing will be published on that blog. I have already published some writing and will publish more later! To visit my writing blog click here
